FAQ Buy Texels:
FAQ
What is a Texel? According to Wikipedia:
A texel, or texture element (also texture pixel) is the fundamental unit of texture space, used in computer graphics. Textures are represented by arrays of texels, just as pictures are represented by arrays of pixels.
Why do some of the pages say Pixel and some say Texel?
We are using gpix as the base for the website which was designed for selling Pixel advertising. We are slowly replacing pixel with texel but there are some places we haven't had a chance to change yet.
How did the idea come about?
So as I was sitting here in my
Mother In Law's house working on coding Farmlands(TM) I thought to
myself it sure would be nice if we had some extra money for equipment
and maybe an actual office. That won't be till months away from now
as being a self funded independent developer we really won't be able
to get any of those things till our first game sells some copies.
Then it hit me what if I were able to sell people the rights to
displaying their images in our game? I remembered reading about the
million dollar website a long time ago and thought you know if Alex
Tew was able to raise money for college maybe we just might be able
to raise some money for our game company. At least enough for some new
office equipment.
I've spent the past week working on
this crazy idea and here it is. So if you have ever dreamed of having
your picture in a video game or feel like helping an indie game
developer buy some texels! It sure will be appreciated. Well back to
the game.
Sincerely,
Greg Chudecke
